Canadians came to Hatfield and worked making brooms out of corn to sweep. Irish started coming after the Potatoes died in Ireland. German people came to Hatfield after the Revolution. Polish people came to Hatfield in 1890. They worked as farm laborers and built the Polish Club in 1917 on Prospect Street.
