On Wednesday, May 9, 2012, twenty-one Smith Academy seniors were honored by the Lions Club of Hatfield at the annual Academic Achievement Recognition Night Dinner. Parent and community involvement in Smith Academy are directly related to the amount of success that our students and school currently enjoy. For over sixty years, The Hatfield Lions Club has been a strong supporter of the children of Hatfield. In addition to putting on the annual academic achievement dinner, the Lions Club gives scholarships to graduating seniors, puts on an annual Halloween Party for kids, and even supports summer recreation programs. Students benefit greatly when the community gets involved in our schools and we are very appreciative of the support.

Students who were recognized for their academic achievement were Samuel Boucher, Benjamin Bricker, Bridget Campbell, Alexander Do, Steven Golonka, Amanda Hebert, Alyssa Klepacki, Daniel Laizer, Matthew LaRose, Alyssa Lemme, Patrick Lowry, Sierra McDonald, Samuel McGrath, Christian Melnik, Sarah Muellejans, Travis Omasta, Daniel Pereira, Emily Pitchko, Luke Smith, Jessica Suriano, and Alyssa Woodward.
