June 2009
Dear Smith Academy Families,
Although I am writing this letter on the day before we leave for our annual 8th Grade Class Trip to Washington, DC, I know that it will not be long before we start getting ready for the 2009-2010 school year. One of the most exciting differences between this year and next will be the Hatfield Public Schools District Website. Our Technology Coordinator, Paul Duval, has done a fantastic job on the new website and I trust that you will agree that it is among the best school sites that I have seen!
As we improve our technology infrastructure, tools, and oversight, the website will be the most effective way to receive information from and about the school. Homework assignments, announcements, calendars, event schedules and a variety of other resources will be posted to the website and updated regularly. I feel strongly that we have truly improved our ability to communicate in so many areas and to many of our key constituents – our current families, prospective school choice families, families who are looking to relocate to Western Massachusetts and future faculty members.
Well, that is all for now. I want to wish all of our students and their families congratulations on all of your collective accomplishments this year, as well as a long and relaxing summer!
Sincerely
Scott Goldman
