Dear Parents/Guardians,

Please see below email from MDESE:

Extremely Urgent: MCAS ELA Composition Test Postponed Until Monday, March 25

To: Principals and Directors of Charter Schools, Approved Private Special Education Schools, Educational Collaboratives, and Institutional Programs
Copy: Superintendents, MCAS Test Coordinators
From: Elizabeth Davis, Associate Commissioner of Student Assessment
Date: March 18, 2013

In anticipation of severe weather that may result in numerous school closings and delayed openings tomorrow, Tuesday, March 19 (which is the date scheduled for the MCAS ELA Composition test), the Department has decided to postpone the administration of the MCAS ELA Composition test until Monday, March 25.

All schools must administer the ELA Composition test to students in grades 4, 7, and 10 on Monday, March 25, including schools that are not affected by the weather. We realize that this change may be disruptive for some schools, but for security reasons it is critical that all schools administer the ELA Composition on the same day. Even schools that are unaffected by the storm must wait until Monday, March 25, to administer the test."

We will adjust accordingly and utilize delayed starts this Thursday 3/21, Friday 3/22, and Monday 3/25. Again, these only apply to grades 9, 11, and 12.

MCAS 2013 Schedule

A.     3/21 (Thursday) ELA Reading Comprehension Session 1 & 2 (10th grade)

B.     3/22 (Friday) ELA Reading Comprehension Session 3 (10th grade)

C.     3/25 (Monday) ELA Composition Sessions A & B (Grades 7 & 10)

D.    3/26 (Tuesday) ELA Reading Comprehension Session 1 (8th grade)

E.     3/27 (Wednesday) ELA Reading Comprehension Session 2 (8th grade)

F.     3/28 (Thursday) ELA Reading Comprehension Session 1 (7th grade)

G.     3/29 (Friday) ELA Reading Comprehension Session 2 (7th grade)

Any questions, please do not hesitate.

Respectfully,

Mr. Andrew M. Berrios

Dear Parents/Community Members,

I hope this letter finds you and your family in good health.

I am sure you are well aware that our boy’s basketball team has advanced to the Division III State Championship. The team has not been to this level of play in 21 years. The game will be played at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA.
More info: http://dcucenter.com/event.php?id=1007

At the end of the school day tomorrow, we will have a pep rally to wish our team the best of luck as they head to the championship game. Additionally, we want to thank all of those responsible for making this season such a success.

I am asking for you to attend whether your son/daughter is on the team or not. It is going to be a great community event and your support will make it that much more special.

The event will begin at 1 pm and run until roughly 2 pm.

Thank you for your time and support.

Go Falcons!

Respectfully,
Mr. Andrew Berrios
