Smith Academy Welcomes New Principal

PDFPrint

CzapThis year we welcome Mr. Czaporowski as our new principal. Mr. Czaporowski, a graduate of Westfield State, lives locally in Florence. When asked about his education he promoted Westfield State as the best local option for criminal justice and education majors. When he heard of the job opening here at Smith, he was very excited. “The small school atmosphere really appealed to me,” Czaporowski said. Right away his compassionate personality brought changes to our school. The cookout and scavenger hunt between staff and new students created a friendly environment to welcome these students. Mr. Czaporowski also hopes to implement new activities for our school, including some special changes for the afternoon of Friday of Spirit Week, and a new club, As Schools Match Wits.

When asked of the top contributions he will bring to the school he listed, “Safety, compassion, imagination, and open-mindedness.” As he outlined in his opening all school assembly, safety is the most important. He is keen on rules but reassures us, “I also know how to listen.” Mr. Czaporowski has had much experience in large schools, so Smith’s small student body is a thrilling change.  Junior Student Council member and tri-captain of the Varsity soccer team, Seaver Rickert adds, “He seems like a swell guy, a 7.5 on the Seaver Rickert scale.”

We, the students of Smith Academy, welcome Mr. Czaporowski with open arms and are excited to see what positive changes and additions he can provide to our school.
